Stinky fingers and insults in the mega traffic jam

Stinky fingers and insults in the mega traffic jam

When mathias fussel from the tiepner company stands at his traffic lights near seidenhof, he doesn't let himself get ruffled. Whether it's the stinky finger or the insults from drivers as they pass by – every comment leaves him cold. "If someone shows me the finger again, then I just laugh. I am just doing my job", he says.

Every day from 7 a.M. To 7 p.M. The traffic lights at the road B 289 are controlled manually. This means that a member of the company's rental team is standing at the switchgear and independently assessing the situation. "Traffic jams in both directions. You can't get rid of the cars with normal switches, you have to switch through manually", fussel explains his task. He has been a "traffic light switch" for eight years already. "This is not an apprenticeship, but one is instructed. But it takes half a year to get it all done", tells mathias fussel and shows how the circuit works. Although fussel is only thirty years old, he has learned not to let himself be provoked and simply accepts the impatience of some drivers. "My colleague, who was there on the first day, has also heard a lot", tells fuss. "I can understand that some are angry, but they also get a new strabe. That is also good", says fussel.
And with that, he speaks from the heart of the bayreuth state building authority, which is in charge of the renovation work. 130,000 euros costs the mabnahme. Since the beginning of the week, the surface course and the second course at seidenhof are being removed by milling. Then the road will be paved with a completely new layer of asphalt. The fact that the seidenhof business park is only accessible via the federal highway poses a special challenge for the planners. The rehabilitation of the 400-meter stretch was divided into three construction phases.

In the first two days, the entire right side of the road from kulmbach in the direction of mainleus will be rehabilitated. In a second section, the rear part of the opposite side of the road will be tackled – right up to the middle of the intersection, where the industrial area meets the federal highway. And in a third section, the part from the mouth of the commercial area in the direction of kulmbach is next in line.

Robbers loot diamonds for 37.4 million euros

Robbers loot diamonds for 37.4 million euros

The value of the diamonds is around 50 million dollars (37.4 million euros), according to the antwerp world diamond centre (AWDC). This is what their spokeswoman told the belgian news agency belga. The crime occurred on monday evening. At first there was no trace of the perpetrators.

The gemstones originated in the flemish port city of antwerp, the center of the global diamond trade. "They are mainly rough diamonds from antwerp," AWDC spokeswoman caroline de wolf told belga. About the addressees nothing is known, probably the diamonds had been brought to a buyer or should be cut abroad. The antwerp trade is repeatedly the target of criminals. Belgian radio, citing the AWDC, reported that among the stolen goods could be gold.

The minutely planned robbery began on monday evening at 19.47 o’clock and lasted only five minutes. As the prosecutor’s office said on tuesday, two black cars with blue lights drove onto the airport grounds. The perpetrators had broken through the fence around the rolling field right between two construction sites, said the spokeswoman of the public prosecutor’s office, ine van wymersch. In each of the cars there were four hooded men, heavily armed with machine guns. "They wanted to pretend to be police officers," the spokeswoman said. They were professionals: "this was a precisely prepared act. (..) these were professional offenders."

Porsche increases number of employees

Porsche increases number of employees

About 700 jobs have been created at the new macan plant in leipzig, a spokesman said, with the rest at the porsche headquarters in zuffenhausen and the development center in weissach near stuttgart. Porsche plans to expand its workforce to over 20,000 by 2018.

The operating profit of the sports car manufacturer stagnated at 1.89 billion euros in the first nine months of the year. The reason for this is the high level of investment, says porsche boss matthias muller. Porsche is investing around 1.3 billion euros this year – among other things in the new macan production facility in leipzig and therefore expects profits in 2013 to be on a par with the previous year’s level. In terms of revenue and sales, however, the sports car manufacturer is on the way to new record figures. Porsche increased its profits by three percent to 10.4 billion euros in the first nine months of the year.

The sports car manufacturer delivered almost 120,000 vehicles to customers between january and september – an increase of 15 percent. The biggest success for porsche is currently in the USA. There, deliveries increased by 26 percent in the first nine months of the year. In china, the increase was 15 percent. In europe, however, porsche, like other carmakers, suffered from the weakness of the auto market and increased the number of vehicles delivered by only two percent.

Vehicles jammed after accident on a3 motorway

vehicles jammed after accident on a3 motorway

At around 5:30 p.M., heavy traffic in the direction of nurnberg had led to traffic jams between the wertheim and helmstadt junctions, forcing vehicles to stop in the left lane of the road. An 18-year-old female driver recognized the situation too late. Although she braked hard and tried to swerve to the right at the last moment, she was unable to avoid a collision with a small truck at the end of the traffic jam. The force of the collision turned the 3.5-ton truck on its side and slightly lifted the almost empty, open van. As a result, the small car of the female driver from the hassberge district was caught under the rear of the vehicle and became trapped. Both vehicles then crashed into the volvo of a 48-year-old woman from north rhine-westphalia, blocking both lanes of traffic.

A rescue vehicle and the volunteer fire departments from wertheim and bettingen were therefore on the scene. The young woman who caused the accident was taken to hospital. Fortunately, she only suffered minor head injuries and was able to leave the hospital after outpatient treatment.

The fire department was able to separate the wedged vehicles. The two cars had to be towed away. The 34-year-old driver of the small truck and also the volvo driver were uninjured.
